My real name is Ramona Iftode and I’ve become a web designer by “mistake”, if we think about my studies to become a teacher and my initial career in the radio show business. While working as a radio “dj” and getting my yellow belt in Karate, I started thinking about creating a site where I could share some useful articles for other Karate lovers in my country.
That first site was created back in 2002 (March, to be more exact), by using Front Page with an ugly black template. In the weeks that followed, my interest towards web design increased and I would work 10 hours a day learning as much as I could and trying to make that first project look good.
A brand also emerged – DoJo (from my martial arts passion) – and also other sites that made up the Dojo Design network. Not having money to invest in web development services, I was forced to learn how to create new designs for forums / directories / blogs / e-commerces projects and manage them. In the meantime few people became interested in my designs and I secured my first clients.
More than 8 years have passed since my humble start. I am still spending a lot of time each day to perfect my skills, work for my clients, grow my site network and share some of my knowledge in specialized projects I author.
